The Raiders traveled to Lapel on Saturday and came away with an impressive 2-0 shutout win over the Bulldogs. Senior Olivia Watson was once again outstanding from the circle for the Raiders. Watson notched a 3-hit, 9 strikeout game and her teammates played flawlessly behind her committing no errors. The game was scoreless through 6 innings. In the 7th, sophomore Olivia Hinesley came through with the big hit for Shenandoah. Catcher Aleyna Sharritts got the inning started with single and with 1 out freshman Reese Sprunger moved her to 2nd with a single of her own. After both moved up on a passed ball, Hinesley came through with the clutch hit into right field producing the 2 runs. Watson then gave up 2 hits to start the bottom of the 7th but induced a groundout, strike out and pop out to finish her gem. The Raiders moved to 13-3 on the season and will have a chance to capture the MEC championship at home this week with games vs Wes-Del on Tuesday and Eastern Hancock on Thursday. Both games are scheduled for 5pm starts.
