The Raiders opened Mid Eastern Conference play tonight with a run rule shortened game at Monroe Central. The Raiders defeated the Bears 16-0 behind the pitching of Olivia Hinesley and the hot hitting of Olivia Watson. Hinesley gave up 2 hits and walked 2 while striking out 6 over the 5 innings pitched. She also helped her own cause going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Watson was 3 of 3, scored 3 times and knocked in 3 runs. The senior had a a 2 run home run (her first this season) as part of a 5 run 4th inning. Other offensive highlights included: Aleyna Sharrits (2 for 3, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI; Gabbi Patrick (3 for 4, 2 runs scored with 3 RBI; and Reese Sprunger (2 for 3 with 2 RBI). Besides Watson's homer, the Raiders got extra base hits from Patrick (2 doubles), Sharritts (double), and Terran Mills (double). Freshman Reese Sprunger also had a triple for SHS.
