The Raider softball team defeated Knightstown and Tri on Saturday to capture their 4th consecutive Henry County Tournament Championship. The day started with a 6-0 shutout performance from junior Olivia Watson. Watson scattered 4 hits and 3 walks over 7 innings and struck out 12 Panthers. She got offensive support from Tara Mills and Elayna Sharritts. Each went 2 for 3, scored a run and had an RBI. Gabbi Patrick had a triple in 3 at bats, scored and drove home a run. In the championship versus Tri, Freshman Olivia Hinesley got the start in the circle and claimed the win with 5 strong innings in which she only gave up a pair of earned runs (3 overall). Olivia Watson closed out the final 2 innings and struck out 4 Titans. Hinesley walked 3 and struck out 2. Four Raiders pounded out 2 hits each, led by junior Alyssa Toffolo. Toffolo went 2 for 2, had 2 doubles and drove home half of the Raider runs. Elise Boyd, Lilianna Lynch, and Tara Mills also has 2 hit days. Lynch and Boyd both scored twice as well. Lydia Schwagmeier drove home a run with an RBI single and Kaelyn Castor doubled and scored for the Raiders.
