The Raider softball team went to Tri on Monday and came away with a 4-2 win over their Henry County rival. Locked into a scoreless battle through 5 innings, the Raiders managed to push across 2 runs in the top of the 6th. The lead did not last very long as the Titans answered with 2 runs in the bottom half of the 6th. That set the stage for 7th inning heroics, this time coming from senior Elise Boyd. Boyd doubled home 2 runs in the 7th to give the Raiders the victory. Boyd was 1-3 on the night, scored once and also had a stolen base. Olivia Watson was stellar in the circle for SHS. The junior pitched a complete game scattering 9 Titan hits while striking out 13 and not walking a batter. The Raiders got offense from Gabbi Patrick (1-4, RBI), Alyssa Toffolo (2-3, run scored), Tarran Mills (1-3, triple), and Lydia Schwagmeier (1-4). Aleyna Sharritts had 2 stolen bases and scored a run as well. The Raiders are now 5-2 and face Lincoln tonight at home (weather permitting) at 5pm.
