The Raiders got a clutch 2-run home run from sophomore Drew Fredenburg in the bottom of the 7th to tie; then won it in the 9th when junior Ezra Byrd provided a 2 out base hit to plate the winner in a 7-6 win over New Castle. The Raiders had things seemingly in hand through 6 innings but New Castle rallied for 5 in the top of the 7th to take a 6-4 lead. Leading the way for the Raider batters was Byrd as he totaled 3 hits on the night, scored 2 runs and drove home the winner. Fredenburg's home run was the first of his career, a line shot the easily cleared the right field fence. Junior Maddux Davis provided 2 hits, scored 2 runs and pitched 2 scoreless innings while striking out a pair of Trojans. Harrison Jessup got the win with 2.2 innings of 1 run baseball. The junior righty struck out 4. The Raiders take on MEC rival Monroe Central tonight at home.
