The Raider softball squad was victorious at home last night, winning 11-0 over visiting Cowan. Junior pitcher Olivia Hinesley tossed 5 shut out innings, giving up 4 hits, walking 2 and striking out 5. She got all the run support she needed in the first inning when the Raiders pushed 3 runs across. Hinesley and Reese Sprunger got the inning started with back to back singles. Aleyna Sharritts plated Hinesley with a single of her own. Freshman Kaden Schneider then laced a double into left-centerfield that scored Sharritts and Sprunger. The Raiders applied the final punch with 7 in the bottom o the 4th, highlighted by Reese Sprunger's inside the park home run. Callie Bevans was hit by a pitch and scored on Hinesley's double. That's when Sprunger drilled a shot down the left field line that went to the fence. Sprunger's speed accounted for the rest. This was the sophomore's 2nd home run of the season.
